About Us
Marsden Tennis Club is to be found at the Hemplow private sporting complex off Mount Road in Marsden. Our three courts are set in dramatic Yorkshire countryside, adjoining the cricket club, crown green bowling and golf course.
Currently we share the pleasant golf club bar and changing rooms, which are adjacent to the courts. We have future plans to extend this facility with a modern clubhouse adjoining the bar.
Our club has always had a reputation for being friendly, whilst offering the opportunity to play tennis at both social or competitive league standard.
Team Tennis
We currently have 2 ladies teams playing in the Huddersfield league in divisions 2 and 4.
The men have 3 teams playing in the Huddersfield league in divisions 3, 5 and 6.
We also have both men's and ladies teams playing in the Calderdale league.
We are continuing to run a mixed junior team playing in the Huddersfield league.
Social Tennis
Social tennis is played on a Wednesday evening from around 6.30pm and also Sunday afternoons from around 2.30pm till late. All members are very welcome to join in and the emphasis is on having fun and enjoying playing in mixed groups, whatever the ability.
We are always looking for new members to play at any of these standards.

Coaching

We have coaching available with Sean Stafford and Dave Sykes. Sean holds his LTA Level 2 coaching award and is currently working towards his Level 3 award. Dave Sykes also holds Level 2 accreditation working to level 3 and is assisting Sean, particularly with Juniors and beginners / intermediates.
Coaching sessions for juniors take place on Saturday mornings from 9:00 until 12:00: -
09:00 to 10:00 - Beginners
10:00 to 11:00 - Improvers
11:00 to 12:00 - Intermediates
Adult coaching takes place on Sunday mornings from 09.30 until 12.30: -
09:30 to 11:00 - Men's coaching
11:00 to 12:30 - Ladies' coaching
Dave is also running an adult beginners' / improvers' class at weekends, times vary - contact Dave for arrangements on 07710 572852.
Sean and Dave are available at other times for all levels of coaching sessions at the very competitive rate of 20 GBP per hour for an individual lesson for Sean and 12 GBP for Dave. Group lesson rates by arrangement.
